Chapman goes mulitple innings

Chapman goes 2 with mixed results

In the 4th inning yesterday, lefty Aroldis Chapman got the Mariners in order with 2 strikeouts but he wasn't as efficient in his second inning of work.  In the 5th, Chapman gave up a run on 3 hits and recorded his third strikeout of the game.  According to Jeff Brantley,  Chapman was working on his breaking ball and that may have been the reason for his rough 5th inning.  Bryan Price has indicated that on occasion Chapman may be called upon to pitch more than one inning during the year.

Meanwhile Alfredo Simon gave up just a walk and struck out 4 in 3 innings of work in his second start of the spring.

Speed Kills

Billy Hamilton showed once again how his legs are the X factor for the Reds.  In the bottom of the 5th he reached base on a walk, stole second, advanced to third on the catcher's throwing error, and scored easily on a Skip Schumaker foul pop just beyond 3rd base.

Billy Hamilton scored easily on this pop up to foul territory off the bat of Skip Schumaker.
