Cold Weather Grips Tri-State

Cold Weather Grips Tri-State

(Tri-State) -- A Wind Chill Warning from the National Weather Service is in place over the area, and it will remain in effect until temperatures climb.  The Weather Service says winds gusting up to 30 mph, combined with temperatures around 0, will last through Tuesday, causing dangerous conditions.

The Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport reported numerous flight cancellations, but those were related more to the snowstorm that largely missed the Tri-State.

Firefighters in the area, including in Mt. Healthy had to deal with the cold and the heat at a blaze on St. Claire, Monday morning.  The Butler County Sheriff announced he would open up the lobby of the jail as a warming shelter for anyone who needed to get out of the cold.

On the Ohio River, temperatures were not low enough to freeze the water, but they were cold enough to produce fog.  To see photos from Monday afternoon, Click Here
