Area Hospitals Taking Steps To Prevent Spread Of Flu, Whooping Cough

(Cincinnati) Northwest Ohio has already seen a handful of deaths from an outbreak of the H1N1 virus and the Ohio Department of Health reports it's spreading along with an outbreak of whooping cough. That has tri-state hospitals putting limitations on visitors. The Greater Cincinnati Health Council is asking those already ill with coughing, sneezing, runny nose, or a fever to not visit. They're also asking anyone under the age of 14 to not visit. For those who do need to come to the hospital, there is hand sanitizer, tissues, and face masks available. The Ohio Department of Health reports a spike in hospitalizations for whooping cough and the flu since the beginning of December. The ODH is urging everyone get vaccinated.
