UPDATE: Suspect Caught in Covington Officer Shooting

(Covington, KY) -- UPDATE -- At approximately 4:00pm on Friday, police arrested 26-year-old Pharo Wilson for the shooting injury to a Convington Police Officer.

Wilson was apprehended without incident at the Fireside Motel on the 7500 block of Colerain Avenue.


( Original Story ) -- A Police Officer has been taken to the hospital after being shot Friday morning while responding to a call at the City Heights housing complex. It happened around 5:30am. Investigators say the suspect fired several shots, hitting the unnamed officer once in the foot.

SWAT team members and officers from Covington and other departments blocked off a large area around Benton Road and Todd Court as they searched for the suspect, 26 year old Pharo Wilson.

Colonel Spike Jones says 43 year old Specialist Mark Richardson is expected to be okay.  He is a K-9 handler who is a ten year veteran with Covington.  He was one of four officers looking for Wilson, when Wilson allegedly fired from a second story window on them.

Pharo Wilson is still at large.
